Helping Artisans in Underdeveloped Countries

Lisa Harper, Principal Recruiter and Team Leader for Smith Hanley Consulting Group, recently visited China with Bajalia Trading Company, a non-profit organization that partners with artisans in the underdeveloped regions of China, India, Thailand, Afghanistan and Africa. Bajalia acts as a liaison between US retailers and the craftspeople in these regions. They strive to preserve artistic traditions and culture while providing sustainable economic growth.

The projects that need marketing and business help seem to be endless, so this Spring Lisa dedicated some part-time recruiting efforts to finding new Bajalia staff. Now that she has seen Bajalia's work first-hand, she can passionately recruit potential volunteers and partners.
